Why the sand is flowing to the pool? Ensure you used the recommended sand: 0.45mm to 0.55mm #20 silica sand. If the sand used is too big, the sand bed will calcify and if the sand used is smaller than the recommended, sand will flow into the pool. You should therefore replace the sand bed. 2. The reading on Pressure Gauge is higher than the recommended pressure, what can I do? A build up of dirt in the sand bed and insufficient backwashing causes high-pressure readings as well as calcified sand beds. Backwash the sand bed until the water runs clean. If there is still a high-pressure reading, sand bed replacement is necessary. 3. Why does the control valve leak? Your control valve is not set to the correct position; it is set between two functions. Adjust the control valve to stop water from leaking. 4. The connector leaks when the sand filter is working? Check to ensure the washer is in the right position. Also check if the hose has loosened and tighten it if necessary. 5. Can we use the pool while the sand filter is operating? Is it safe? No, it is not recommended, for various local, state, national and international standards, the sand filter is not to be operating if pool is in use and/or occupied, although it is safe and has complied with EN safety standards. 6. Does the Bestwayâs sand filter meet recognized electrical standards? Yes, Bestwayâs sand filters meet EN Standards and depending on the model, some sand filters have GS certification. 7. Can I upgrade my 800gal sand filter to 1500gal sand filter for my pool? Yes, you can use the provided adaptors (Item #P5C183) to attach the 1500gal. sand filter to your original pool at the hose connections. 8. Should I need any other tools to assemble the sand filter?
