Look for causes of low capacity such as refrigerant mischarge or a dirty condenser coil. If the airflow is high, correct it by lowering the fan speed. The Sonel MPI-505 is a multifunction installation tester - an all in one insulation, loop and RCD tester. One instrument allows the user to measure insulation resistance, earth loop impedance and prospective short current (PSC) and test RCD operation on an electrical cicuit. The MPI-505 is one of the smallest and lightest multifunction meters available and has a groundbreaking ergonomic design with a CAT IV 300V safety rating. The insulation resistance measurements are carried out utilising a user selectable test current of 100, 250, 500 or 1000V, and the MPI-505 automatically discharges capacitance of the circuit under test on completion of the measurement. In addition a protection feature to prevent testing a circuit carrying live voltage is built in to the MPI-505, and if more than 20V is detected in the connected cicuit, the MPI-505 will block the test. During the insulation measurement and audible signal sounds every 5s facilitating the measurement of time characteristics. During earth loop fault impedance measurements, the MPI-505 can measure loop impedance up to 2000 Ohms with as low as a 0.01 Ohm resistance. In RCD mode, the MPI-505 will measure loop impedance without tripping a 30mA RCD, eliminating the need to bridge or reset the safety switch after each loop test. Automatic calculation of prospective short current (PSC) is also made with the MPI-505. Loop impedance in 115/200V, 220/380V, 230/400V, and 240/415V single and three phase circuits is also possible between a frequency of 45 and 65 Hz. A high current loop test can also be conducted should the user wish to do so. Checking of RCD's rated at 10mA, 30mA, 100mA, 300mA, and 500mA (AC, A, general and selecive) is possible with the MPI-505. Either a current trip test, using a ramp current, or a time trip test using a user programmable voltage is possible. In addition, it is also possible to program the MPI-505 to undertake an automatic measurement, and  trip current and trip time can be measured during only one RCD trip. The operator can also select measurements for positive or negative half-periods of forced leakage current. Other features of the MPI-505 include a low voltage resistance measurement function as well as continuity measurement with a test current of >200mA for testing protective conductor connections and equipotential bonding. The MIC-5000 high voltage 5kV insulation resistance meter from Sonel is designed to accurately measure insulation resistance using test voltages of up to 5kV on power cables, transformers, motors and other electrical devices and networks. Additionally, the device allows for measurement of AC and DC voltages. Inputs from the devices and circuits under test are electonically protected from overloading, for instance, due to an incorrect connection, or incorrect use of input terminals by the MIC-5000 internal circuitry. It is possible for the user either to select a test voltage between 250V and 5000V in 50V increments, which are fully user defined and programmed, or alternatively select one of 5 pre-defined test voltages of 250V, 500V, 1000V, 2500V or 5000V. The Sonel MIC-5000 will start it's measurement cycle with on-line insulation resistance measurement or leakage current. At the conclusion of the insulation resistance measurement, the MIC-5000 will automatically discharge the tested object's capacitance to facilitate the safe disconnection of the meter. During the measurement, an acoustic signal can be sounded every 5 seconds, which facilitates taking time characteristics during the measurement cycle. The Sonel MIC-30 is a professional and programmable insulation resistance tester (megohmmeter) used for measuring insulation reistance in electrical circuits and components. It is supplied with user software and a wireless transmission adapter to allow wireless connection to a PC. The MIC-30 is housed in an ergonomic case, with bright coloured side bumbers to protect the meter and provide high visibility. As well as the CAT IV 600V safety rating, the housing is also IP67 rated making it suitable for use in a wide range of conditions.
